Short version: your photos and videos never leave your device, we use no cookies, and there are no accounts.

Your files stay on your device

The fixer is a plain web page. When you add your Snapchat ZIP files, they are read and changed by code running in your own browser, and the fixed ZIP is created on your device. Nothing is uploaded – there is no server that could receive your files. The page’s security settings (Content Security Policy) also stop it from sending data anywhere. You can check this yourself: load the page, switch on aeroplane mode, and it still works.

No cookies, no accounts, no tracking

We don’t set cookies, don’t use local storage for tracking, don’t ask for your name or email, and don’t use advertising or social-media trackers. That’s why there’s no cookie banner.

What the visitor counter records

Since 30 October 2026 we use GoatCounter, a cookieless, privacy-friendly counter, to see roughly how many people use the tool. It counts: the page visited, the website you came from (referrer), and broad device type, browser, screen size and country. It does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you, and never sees your files, file names, dates or locations. We also count a single “a fix finished” event with no details attached. The counter is the only thing this site is allowed to connect to (to memorie.goatcounter.com); your files are never sent.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by a free hosting provider (planned: Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, it may briefly keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security; we don’t have access to these for tracking purposes.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Because we don’t collect personal data from the tool, there’s normally nothing for us to hold, correct or delete. If you have a question, email tinku1008+memoriesfixer@mail.grokbot.com. You can also contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
